This story has been updated. The identity has been released of a man who was struck and killed by a passing car in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in Danbury around 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 20 in the area of Lake Avenue Extension and Mill Ridge Road. According to Erin Henry, spokeswoman for the Danbury Police, officers found 40-year-old Garrett Rich of Danbury, lying in the westbound lane of Lake Avenue Extension in front of the Ethan Allen Hotel with significant injuries. Eighteen teens and juveniles, in addition to several others, were rescued after three rowing sculls overturned and the chase boat took on water at a Fairfield County beach. Arrest Made In Stamford Hit-Run That Killed Local Woman
A Fairfield County man has been charged in a hit-run crash last year that killed a 74-year-old woman. The crash occurred in Stamford around 6:15 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, on West Main St., near the junction with Alvord Lane. Stamford Police Sgt. Jeffrey Booth said at the time of the crash, Marie Jean-Charles, a 74-year-old Stamford resident, was crossing West Main Street from north to south. Police are searching for a pair of thieves who allegedly made off with almost $3,000 in hair products from a CVS store in Fairfield County in the latest incident, which occurred occurred in Darien on Friday, March 15 at 964 Post Road. According to Sgt. Dan Skoumbros of the Darien Police, the store manager, while reviewing the store camera, spotted a man and woman grabbing multiple hair products and placing them in a bag.
