A 22-year-old emergency responder from Bergen County, NJ was killed in a crash in Orange County, NY on Sunday, April 28, police said
Marcin Bednarz, who served in the Wallington Fire Department and was formerly a EMS member, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Arden Valley Road in Tuxedo, N.Y. at 3:18 p.m., according to a New York State Police report.

Man With 19 Arrests Caught Again In Hudson Valley With Stolen Property, Cops Say
A man on parole with 19 prior arrests and five convictions has been nabbed again for allegedly stealing property.
Tobi C. Tobin, age 54, homeless, was arrested on Monday, April 29, in Ulster County in the town of Lloyd for criminal possession of stolen property.
According to Chief James Janso of the Lloyd Police Department, Tobin was found in possession of a stolen Trek Mountain bike and a stolen Samsung tablet.
Tobin had previously been arrested by Lloyd Police on Saturday, April 20, for criminal trespass and again on Thursday, April 25, for trespass, Janso said.

A residence inside a Hudson Valley condominium complex was left damaged by a fire.
According to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, the incident happened in Putnam County on Friday, April 26, just before 6:40 p.m., when a blaze began inside a unit at a condominium building in Mahopac on East Lake Boulevard.

A man from the region is behind bars after allegedly slashing a barber numerous times with a knife and then cutting his own throat on a local street.
The incident occurred in Ulster County in the 600 block of Broadway at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in Kingston.
According to Chief Egidio Tinti of the Kingston Police, Gunercindo Diaz-Diaz, age 41 of Kingston, was spotted by a New York State Trooper with a knife to his neck on a city street.
