RIDGEFIELD, Conn.-- Three swimmers from the Ridgefield Aquatic Club were recognized recently by the USA Swimming National Top 10 Recognition Program.
The program ranks swimmers based on their fastest times during the season in each event.
AJ Bornstein and Marcie Maguire of Ridgefield were both ranked in the top 10 of their respective events.
Bornstein finished ranked in the top 10 of a number of events, including second in the 200 meter breast stroke and third in the 50 meter breast stroke. He finished ranked 4th overall for 13-year-old boys.
Maguire, a Ridgefield High School freshman finished the season ranked 5th in the 100 meter back stroke and was ranked 9th among 13-year-old-girls.
Lindsey Gordon, another RHS freshman, finished her strong season just outside the top 10 with an overall ranking of 12th.
"It is a tremendous honor to be ranked as one of the top 15 swimmers in the country," RAC Head Coach Bob Shearer said in a statement. "It is a true testament to the talent and work ethic of these three fine swimmers."
