Russel Joseph, 37, “was engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with a victim who was less than sixteen years of age,” Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Friday.

Detectives from his office and Englewood police arrested Joseph after interviewing the alleged victim, Grewal said.

A judge ordered him held in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on charges of sexual assault by sexual contact, aggravated criminal sexual contact and child endangerment, the prosecutor said.
