Two More Charged In Darien Car Burglaries

DARIEN, Conn. – Two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with a series of Darien car and home burglaries in June. Two people had already been arrested in connection with the case, and Darien Police said an additional arrest is expected.

Joshua Rivera, 21, of Trumbull, and Qu’amere Brantley, 20, of Bridgeport, were charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and 17 counts of third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle, police said.

Additional charges were also brought against the two individuals initially arrested in the incidents. Nelson Rivera, 24, of Trumbull, was charged with one count of first-degree burglary and 16 counts of third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle. Livell Sampson, 21, of Bridgeport, was charged with one count of first-degree burglary and 17 counts of third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle.

The incidents occurred in the overnight hours of June 17 and 18, when 17 cars and two houses in Darien were broken into. Police said that they have recovered stolen property from Darien, Norwalk, Wilton, Westport, Trumbull, Stratford, North Haven, Cheshire, Cromwell and Meriden.

Brantley posted a $50,000 bond and will appear in court July 30. Joshua Rivera posted a $5,000 bond and will appear in court on Aug. 3.
