Ridgefield Voters Elect Republicans, Incumbents To State Legislature

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — Ridgefield voters elected Republican incumbents and newcomers to the state legislature in Tuesday's election, according to the Ridgefield Press.

In State Senate District 26, Republican incumbent Toni Boucher defeated Democratic challenger Carolanne Curry.

In State House District 111, Republican incumbent John H. Frey defeated Democratic challenger Joe Dowdel.

In State House District 138, Republican Michael S. Ferguson defeated Democrat Jeff Tomchik for the seat previously held by Janice Giegler.

In the race for Judge of Probate, Democrat Sharon Wicks Dornfeld defeated Republican Daniel O'Grady.

For the U.S. House, Rep. Jim Himes, a Democrat, defeated a challenge from Republican John Shaban of Redding, who did not run for re-election to the State House due to his Congressional run.

For the U.S. Senate, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, won re-election by topping Republican challenger Dan Carter of Bethel. Carter did not seek re-election to the State House due to his Senate run.
