Kellyn Flanagan, 35, was arrested Saturday on two counts of harassment and a felony count of tampering with a witness, in connection with the sentencing of her former fiance, Cesar Olivero, for nearly cutting off the hand of a man with a handsaw, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.

Just prior the sentencing before Judge Gary White, Flanagan, who also has a child with Olivero, sent text messages trying to encourage the man, who was also a former boyfriend, to change his story to influence the sentencing, Conklin said.

During the attack, Olivero slashed the man with a handsaw, leaving a deep, bloody wound in half of the man's hand in an ambush-type attack, police said.

He was also struck over his head, causing wounds that later had to be stapled together, Conklin said.

Flanagan, who began screaming after Olivero was sentenced to 14 years in prison, called the man a liar during her tirade.

She also sent two text messages to the man's wife just after sentencing, Conklin added.

She was released after posting a $50,000 bond.
