RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A Stamford man has been charged in Sunday afternoon’s high-speed car chase on Ridgefield’s Main Street that damaged six cars as the suspect's vehicle crashed into them trying to escape police, the New Canaan Advertiser reported.
The chase ended with the suspect trying to run away after leaving the SUV he was driving at Branchville Road and Main Street, according to the Advertiser.
The Toyota SUV he was driving was allegedly stolen in New Canaan, the Advertiser report says.
Police caught Mark Bogdanov Johnson, 23, and charged him with the following: first-degree larceny, two counts of interfering with the duties of a police officer, assault on public safety personnel, reckless driving, four counts of evading responsibility, failure to obey the signal of an officer, failure to drive right, failure to drive in proper lane and following too closely, says the Advertiser article.
