RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Police Department will once again carry the Flame of Hope through town during the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run on Friday, June 10, on Main Street.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is the largest grass-roots fundraising public awareness vehicle for the games and is a year-round commitment made by law enforcement officers to raise funds for and awareness of Special Olympics.
The effort raised $52 million for Special Olympics programs around the world in 2015.
In Ridgefield and surrounding towns and cities, it has become a priority within the law enforcement community and a source of pride within the profession. Officers assist throughout the year at various competitions.
The run will begin at 9 a.m. on Main Street. To donate to the cause, click here.
