RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Ridgefield officers stopped a car on George Washington Highway late Monday night on an unspecified violation and found both alcohol and marijuana in the car, police said.
When officers stopped the car, which contained a teenage driver and teenage passenger, they saw alcohol in the car and smelled marijuana, police said.
According to police, a computer search on the driver, 19-year-old Lucas Dos-Santos of Danbury, determined that this was his third violation on driving without a valid license. He was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and driving without a valid license, police said. He was released on a written promise to appear and is due to appear at Danbury Superior Court on Aug. 12.
The passenger, Luan Pitol, 19, of Danbury, was charged with possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and released on a written promise to appear. He is due to appear at Danbury Superior Court on Aug. 10.
