MONTCLAIR, N.J. A 21-year-old Ridgefield man was shot to death Sunday night in Montclair, N.J.
Montclair police identified the man as Brian Schiavetti, according to New Jersey.com . His body was found at 6:40 p.m. in the first-floor hallway of a three-story apartment building.
Police responded to the building following reports of gunfire, according to reports .
A release from Andrew Ambrose, chief detective of the Essex County Prosecutors Office, said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident. The motive was not immediately known, the release said.
Ambrose said the initial investigation showed that Schiavetti appeared to have been targeted.
Reports from New Jersey.com said Schiavetti was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.
