RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A 22-year-old Norwalk man is facing several criminal charges, including carrying a gun without a permit, after Ridgefield police stopped his car for speeding Thursday on Route 7 in Ridgefield near Danbury, according to The Ridgefield Press.
Denzel Riddick, of Spring Hill Avenue in Norwalk, is being held on $100,000 bond in Ridgefield, with a court date set for Friday at Danbury Superior Court. He's charged with criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, weapon in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of ammunition, illegal possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver without a permit, operating without a license, and speeding, The Ridgefield Press reports.
Officers stopped his car at around 9:15 a.m., smelled marijuana, then found the marijuana and loaded revolver during a search of the car. His previous felony convictions preclude him from having a gun, The Ridgefield Press says.
