Man Caught Stealing Lottery Tickets At Gas Station In Greenwich, Police Say

An allegedly sticky-fingered suspect was busted by police in Greenwich after he allegedly stole lottery tickets from a local Shell gas station over the weekend.

Officers from the Greenwich Police Department were dispatched to the gas station on Sunday afternoon, where there was a report of the stolen tickets, police said.

A review of video surveillance in the station led police to identify a suspect, New York resident Shawn Kingsley Oliphant.

According to police, Oliphant was located on Lafayette Place, and he was arrested. Oliphant was charged with larceny and released following his arraignment.

He is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 3 to respond to the charge.
