ID Released Woman Killed While In Middle Of Danbury Road As Well As Motorist Involved

A woman who was struck and killed while standing in the middle of a busy area street on Thursday has been identified,  police said.

Clemencia Guallpa, 69, of Danbury, was killed around 6:30 a.m., when she was hit while on Franklin Street by a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Angel Cambizaca of Danbury, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Mark Williams.

At the time of the crash, Guallpa did not have any identification and police had put out a description in hopes of finding her identity.

According to Williams, family members came forward on Thursday and positively identified Guallpa.

As the investigation is still ongoing, police are still asking anyone who might have witnessed the crash to contact Officer Keith Leggiadro or Officer Matthew Malone at 203-797-2157.
