Connecticut State Police found Florence Caillard of Willimantic, dead around 12:30 p.m. Thursday when they responded to East Street in Andover for the report of a woman unconscious.

An investigation found that Caillard, a caregiver for an elderly male on East Street, arrived at the home in her vehicle, a 2016 Fiat 500, failed to set the emergency brake and went to the passenger side of the vehicle when it began to roll backward due to the slope of the driveway.

Caillard was trapped and crushed between the passenger door and a tree just off the edge of the driveway and died as a result, state police said.

State Police are continuing their investigation.
