The police chase began after Wilton Police officers responded to a 911 call from an Old Huckleberry Road resident who reported several people were entering vehicles in the driveway.

A responding Wilton PD officer located a car driving away from the home. The car then increased its speed and engaged the officer in pursuit. A check of the car's registration found it had been stolen out of Branford on Aug. 29.

The car was eventually stopped by officers on the Route 7 connector. The two passengers then exited the vehicle and fled into a wooded area off the highway. The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old boy, and a rear-seat passenger, a 16-year-old girl, both of Waterbury, CT were taken into custody.

Property recovered inside the stolen vehicle as well as in proximity to the vehicle provided evidence of the vehicle's passengers being involved in several motor vehicle burglaries in the area, Wilton Police said.

They were both were charged with multiple counts of burglary, larceny, conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit larceny, and possession of marijuana.
