Patricia Neylon, 50, Former Ridgefield Resident

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Patricia Ann Neylon, a Bethel resident and formerly of New Fairfield and Ridgefield, died on Tuesday, Dec. 23. She was 50.

Neylon was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. on July 4, 1964. She was born to Thomas Raymond Neylon, Jr. and Elsa Louise (Webbink) Neylon. During her younger years she moved many times with her family, living in Oklahoma City, Denver, Atlanta and Detroit and then finally Ridgefield in 1969.

She attended Ridgefield High School and graduated in 1982 and went on to attend Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. and Bentley University in Waltham, Mass. where she earned her BS in Marketing.

After earning her degree, Neylon worked in the import/export trade in South East Asia. For several years she lived in Hong Kong while opening up trade with China. She was one of the first Americans to reach remote regions of China. Her adventures with Nicola Imports had her in Tiananmen Square during the uprising in 1989, where she watched the events unfold from her hotel window.

Returning to the states in the early 1990's, Neylon worked for various marketers. Soon after Neylon returned from overseas, she would meet Ted Busch (also from Ridgefield) and he would become the love of her life.

Neylon is survived by her father, Thomas Neylon of Bethel; her sister, Susan Dolan and her husband Robert of Bethel; and her sister-in-law, Doreen Neylon-Dalpe of Newtown. She is also survived by her four nephews and one niece: Thomas Neylon and Stephen (and his wife, Nicole) Neylon of Danbury; and John Dolan, Samuel Dolan and Margaret Dolan of Bethel. Neylon also leaves behind many  cousins and Aunts and uncles.

Neylon was pre-deceased by her mother, Elsa Neylon and her brother, Frederick Neylon.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 2, 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Bethel.

The burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
