RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – Helen LoMedico Rella of Ridgefield died Dec. 22 surrounded by family. She was 95.
The third of seven children, Rella was born June 11, 1917, in Bronx, N.Y. She worked for the Army in Atlanta during World War II.
In her early 50s, she went to work as an office temp at Endico’s in Mount Vernon, N.Y. She remained with the company for 34 years and retired at the age of 85.
Rella then became a resident of Ballard Green in Ridgefield, where she made numerous friends, her family said. In the latter half of her life, she traveled extensively with her children, grandchildren and younger sister.
She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn (Michael) Cali, of Ridgefield; a son, Vincent P. Lewis, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; a sister, Carmela Atkinson, of Ridgefield; a brother, John LoMedico, of Stamford; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Thursday at Kane Funeral Home in Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday at St. Mary Church in Ridgefield.
