Ryan Cable, 28, of Rhode Island, pleaded guilty earlier this summer to second-degree manslaughter and evading responsibility. He was sentenced last week to 15 years in prison, suspended after four years, with three years of probation, the News Times reported.

The charges stemmed from a head-on collision on Danbury Road in New Milford that killed 65-year-old Jane Ryan of Ridgefield.

After the crash, surveillance cameras showed that Cable spoke to a witness, went into the bathroom of a gas station, and then fled out a back door, the News Times said.

Jane Ryan's husband, Kevin, said his attorney, Frederick Trotta, will file a wrongful death civil suit against Cable, the News Times said.
