According to the police report, Kupchick and her sister Lisa Fabrizi were attending a family event when they began to argue. The argument lead to Fabrizi being scratched on her face.
Fabrizi called the police, the report said, and the responding officers were able to mediate their disagreement.
Both Fabrizi and Kupchick were charged with disorderly conduct. Kupchick was also charged with assault in the third degree. They were both released on a written promise to appear and were due at Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday, Aug. 19. No information is available about their appearance.
"Every family has occasional disagreements. My sister and I had a personal disagreement as she was leaving my house on Saturday, following a family picnic. I will always put the best interests of my family and my family's children first," Kupchick said in a statement released Monday afternoon. "We are appreciative of the professionalism and discretion of the Fairfield police department and are working through this as a family, and we hope everyone will respect our privacy.”
