Danbury Promotes Small Business Saturday With Main Street Walk

DANBURY, Conn. – The U.S. Small Business Administration on Tuesday will celebrate “Shop Small” to promote Small Business Saturday in Danbury.

Nov. 28 is Small Business Saturday – a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. The SBA and other organizations across the country are urging support for local small businesses by shopping at them as part of the holiday season.

U.S. Sen. Chris Murph,y along with SBA Regional Administrator Seth Goodall and Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, will spearhead a Small Business Walk on Main Street beginning at the Innovation Center at 2 p.m. Tuesday. 

The Innovation Center will host five companies that have used the Innovation Center/Hackerspace to help launch their respective businesses as well as to build a community of entrepreneurs and networking. The businesses are Greenwell Financial, Born TM, Attention Holdings, Skyflix.com and Luke’s Toy Factory. 

The planned stops during the Small Business Walk will be the following: 

  • At Home Care, 190 Main St. 
  • Antonia’s Beauty Salon, 192 Main St. 
  • Relvas Travel Center, 194 Main St. 
  • Bem Bonita Fashion, 240 Main St. 
  • City Center Danbury, 268 Main St. 
  • Faltom Jeweler, 207 Main St.
  • Main Street Dental, 209 Main St.
  • Benai Enterprises Inc., 155 Main St. 
Other dignitaries on the Small Business Walk will be: Robert Nelson, SBA; Mike Kaltschnee, Innovation Center; Manny Carreras, City Center Danbury; Stephen Bull, Danbury Chamber of Commerce; Nelson Merchan, SBDC; Dennis Daugherty, SCORE; Moraima Gutierrez, SBA.
