Kyle Seitz, 36, left his son Benjamin in a hot car at his workplace on an 88-degree day in July after forgetting to drop him off at daycare.
It was not clear how long the 15-month-old boy was in the car. The father took the child directly to Danbury Hospital when he found him in the car at the end of his workday. The death was ruled a homicide in August.
Seitz was granted permission to leave the state to visit his wife and two daughters, who have been out of the state for several weeks, for Christmas, Hearst Connecticut Media Group reported. The motion was granted in a pretrial hearing held at Danbury Superior Court.
