Cooling Center Open At Ridgefield Parks And Recreation

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Ridgefield has opened a cooling center for its residents at Parks and Recreation due to the extreme heat wave.

The cooling center will be open until further notice during regular business hours, Monday though Friday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

At the moment, the town is not offering overnight sheltering.

Residents and visitors are welcome to visit the Center to seek reprieve from the heatwave predicted to last for several days this week.

Temperature highs are likely to be in the low 90's through Friday, the National Weather Service forecasts. Cloud cover is likely to be scarce, and humidity levels will likely make temperatures feel closer to 100.
