RIDGEFIELD, CONN. -- Does your child love to act, sing, and dance?

If so, children in grades K-6 are invited to join the Ridgefield Parks and Recreation Department's new theater camp this summer. The one-week camps are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at Scotts Ridge Middle School.  The cost is $253. The shows are:

Aug. 5-9: "Annie" Aug. 12-16: "Mary Poppins"

Instructor Robby Hedge has dual degrees in theater and elementary education, and her passion for performing will make your child feel like a star, the department said. The camp, which costs $243 for members and $273 non-members, meets daily from 9 a.m. to noon at the Recreation Center.

At the camp, students will work in teams to create story lines, mold characters out of clay and build sets as they learn the complete movie production process. They also will use a digital camera and computer software to animate, record, download, assemble and edit their own movies. Click here to learn more.
