RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield's Paul Fitzpatrick helped kick off the two-day Connecticut Challenge with an 80-mile ride from Bear Mountain in New York.
The CT Challenge continues on Saturday with a range of rides from 10 miles and up. The cyclists get sponsors for their rides, and proceeds benefit cancer survivorship programs at the Connecticut Challenge facility in Southport.
Riders who made Friday's 80-mile journey can participate in a ride of any distance on Saturday. Events on Saturday begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport.
Fitzpatrick overcame a form of a rare disease called Cushing’s. Click here to read more about Fitzpatrick's ride in the CT Challenge.
