New Danbury Dentist Partners With Promise For Children For Chamber Event

DANBURY, Conn. — With a shark’s head plunging through the wall of the waiting room, a seagull with wings spread overlooking the registration desk and a dog on a surfboard riding waves over a waiting-room wall embedded with video game consoles, All About Kids Pediatric Dentistry in Danbury is a far cry from the dental offices most of us knew as kids.

Curious about the transformation of the long-vacant Colonial building from an empty car dealership into a whimsical medical office space? you can get an up-close look during a ribbon-cutting event on Wednesday, April 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.

All About Kids is partnering with Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership and the Danbury Chamber of Commerce to host one of the Chamber’s popular Business After Business events at the new facility at 47 West St. The event is decidedly more for adults than children, offering food, beer, wine, music, and opportunities for networking.

Mayor Mark Boughton will perform a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Business After Business event. To register, go to this website, call 203-743-5565, or email info@danburychamber.com. (Cost is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers.)

Caroline LaFleur, director of Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership, said her organization is thrilled to be partnering with All About Kids on the event.

“We want the business community to understand the work our Partnership is doing to prepare children for success in school, and to help prepare Danbury’s children for success in the workforce. All About Kids wants to introduce their great pediatric dental facility to their neighbors in the downtown community. It’s a perfect match.”

Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership brings together parents, educators, healthcare providers, and family support agencies to support its mission of preparing all Danbury children, ages birth through 8, for success in school.

It is co-hosting to the event “to convey to the business community how important early education is for the future of the workforce," she said. "Businesses need to be engaged in our work. If children aren’t prepared to succeed in school, they drop out, and can’t enter the workforce with the skills Danbury businesses need in their future employees. Danbury’s future economy depends on children who are prepared for academic success.”

Healthy kids, with healthy teeth, are an important part of preparing children for school, since kids who aren’t healthy can’t learn. That’s where All About Kids comes in. It offers cleanings, sealants, preventative care, and a full range of dental treatments, including fillings, crowns, and extractions. They also do orthodontics, oral prosthetics, and athletic mouth guards.

George Presto, outreach coordinator for All About Kids, says the dentists and other professionals in the practice put an emphasis on understanding the unique needs of children.

“Danbury has proven to be a warm and inviting place and All About Kids Pediatric Dentistry is happy to become an integral part of the community,” Presto said.
