Ridgefield Parks And Recreation Offers Various Summer Camps

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield Parks and Recreation is offering various camps throughout the summer.

Camp Expedition (ages 6-10) offers sports, games, arts and crafts, water fun time in the morning and pool time in the afternoon. Campers can attend one to five days a week and choose mornings, afternoons or a full day. 

Budding actors (grades K-8) can enroll in Theater Camps for "Matilda" (July 11-15), "Shrek" (July 18-22) and "Into the Woods" (July 25-29). All participants get a speaking role, as well as an opportunity to sing and dance. 

The Magic of Broadway Dance Camp (grades 2-6) offers training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and lyrical/contemporary. Participants will study choreography basics and choreograph their own dance. The camp is from July 11-15 and concludes with a performance for family and friends. 

Volleyball Camp (ages 11-18) is from 4-7 p.m. July 25-29. Campers will work on developing skills, such as passing, hitting, setting, serving, blocking and appropriate footwork. 

Field Hockey Camp (grades 2-9) will group campers by grade and skill level from July 11-14. Fifth-grade campers are eligible to be placed on a travel field hockey team in the fall.
