RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – The Ridgefield Arts Council is hosting “The Generator,” a networking event for local artists, writers, performers and others in the creative fields.
This event will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9 at the Watershed Gallery, 23 Governor St. in Ridgefield.
Writer Bill Franzen, fabric artist Missy Stevens and songwriter David Ray will share their stories as the opening guest speakers.
Franzen is a longtime contributor to The New Yorker and the writer of "Hearing From Wayne and Other Stories." He also wrote "A Prairie Home Companion" with Garrison Keeler.
Stevens’ thread paintings have been featured in exhibitions throughout the United States, including the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art and the St. Louis Art Museum.
Ray’s early Fast Folk recordings are part of the permanent collection at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.

The Watershed Gallery is located at 23 Governor St., next to the Bissell Pharmacy.
