RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The fifth annual Chekhov International Theatre Festival starts Thursday in Ridgefield.

The festival includes several plays from internationally renowned creators and continues through the weekend at Schlumberger at 36 Old Quarry Road in Ridgefield.

The festival begins Thursday with a one-woman show from Jessica Sherr. Sherr "captures the look, voice and mannerisms of Bette Davis while also revealing her vulnerability, a glimmer of fear, and the anguish of potential failure hidden behind the actress’ tough mask," according to the press release from the festival.

The festival continues Friday with "Apple,"  a "complex powerful story that goes from reality-based drama to moving magical realism," according to the release. The show is written by Vern Thiessen.

Saturday features a double-header with "Milk A Cow's Tail" and "Killer Therapy."

Tickets for the Chekhov Festival are $25 and individual performances are $10 each. Additional information and ticket purchases are available at the festival's website or by calling 203-431-2774.
