RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – The Ridgefield Recreation Center is partnering with The Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce Health & Wellness Council and The Ridgefield Prevention Council to host Destination Wellness.
The event will be on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center, 195 Danbury Road.
Destination Wellness will celebrate healthy living with free family-friendly activities and will feature up to 30 exhibitors, demonstrations and lectures throughout the day, informing families about healthy lifestyle options. Keynote speaker Liz Jorgenson will present "Delay Your Gray: How to Keep Your Teenager Safe and Yourself Sane" at 4 p.m. Jorgenson will discuss how to set effective limits with teens in areas of technology, socializing and sexuality, how to keep your teen safe from alcohol and other drug use, and how to enjoy your teenager. Personal training demonstrations, Spinning, yoga, massage, reflexology, reiki, an academic stress management workshop, teen team building, creative kid activities, bounce house and healthy food offerings from local restaurants will be offered. There will also be prizes and giveaways for attendees.
