RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Playhouse and AAA Northeast will present Shakespeare's "As You Like It" from London's National Theater.
The play, to be shown at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 at the Ridgefield Playhouse, will be performed at the National Theater for the first time in 30 years, according to Ridgefield Playhouse staff.
Those planning on attending the show are urged to visit Barnard's, 20 West Lane, Ridgefield, on the day of the performance for a prix fixe menu offered special to those with playhouse ticket stubs.
“This is an opportunity to see an outstanding performance from top venues for a cost comparable to a movie ticket,” said Executive Director Allison Stockel. "We feel this is a great way to introduce kids to the arts without having to take them into Manhattan and spend a ton of money on tickets.”
The AAA Northeast HD series is underwritten by Jeanne Cook, Anita and Nicholas Donofrio, Liz and Steven Goldstone, Sabina and Walter Slavin, with support from The Ridgefield Press and Whistle Stop Bakery.
For more information about the entire series, visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org. Tickets to most of the events in the series are $25, $20 for members and $15 for students. Those 18 and younger are free.
The Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 East Ridge Road, is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) whose mission is to present a variety of performing arts to the community and the surrounding area that they can enjoy and experience at a varied price point.
