Located in the main lobby of Danbury Hospital’s Peter and Carmen Lucia Buck Pavilion, the Goldstone Caregiver Center officially opened Sept. 17.

The Goldstone Caregiver Center is designed to meet the needs of individuals who are the primary caregivers of family members or friends; it promotes the well-being of caregivers through compassionate support and a healing environment.

The center offers visitors a quiet space for respite and privacy, as well as a place where caregivers can take a break from the bedside to reflect and rest yet still be close to their loves ones. They also can meet with a licensed clinical social worker, spiritual-care provider or other members of the health care team to find welcome guidance and relief.

Amenities of the center include a kitchenette stocked with healthy snacks and beverages and a computer workstation for easy access to e-mails and online resources.

The new facility was made possible through a $1 million gift from Liz and Steven Goldstone of Ridgefield.

For more information or to RSVP to the open house, contact Miranda Dold, LCSW, manager of the Goldstone Caregiver Center, at (203) 739-8888 Ext. 1 or e-mail Miranda.dold@wchn.org.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parking will available in the Rizzo Garage on Hospital Avenue.

Danbury Hospital is at 24 Hospital Ave.
