A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect for southern Fairfield County through 10 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Drivers should be prepared for reduced visibilities and slippery conditions at times on the roads.

A number of school districts — including Danbury, Bethel, Ridgefield, Easton, Redding and Norwalk — have canceled after-school activities for Friday afternoon due to the weather forecast.

The chance of snow on Friday is now 80 percent across Fairfield County and all of southern Connecticut.

The snow will continue into Friday night, with a steady temperature of about 25 degrees, and wind chill values between 15 and 20.

On Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 33. But it will feel much colder, with wind chill values between 15 and 20. The wind will be 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
