Monroe Cops: Healthcare Aide Fraudulently Used Elderly Client's Credit Card MONROE, Conn. -- A home healthcare aide did some extra grocery shopping on her 91-year-old client's dime, Monroe Police said as they arrested a 34-year-old Bridgeport woman. Diane Kenyon, 34, was charged Saturday with second-degree larceny and credit card fraud. She posted $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on March 21. The investigation started in December after a complaint that a woman had used the 91-year-old's credit card to make unauthorized purchases at local supermarkets of more than $2,000, police said.

Winter Storm Whips Through Stamford Tuesday STAMFORD, Conn., -- Stamford appears to have avoided the worst as of noon on Tuesday of the blizzard that is roaring through the east coast. Snowfall totals are around four to six inches and the snow is heavy and wet due to the relatively mild temperatures in the mid 30's. The forecast continues to call for snow and blowing snow as stubbornly high winds remain over the area well into Wednesday. Traffic was light in Stamford with schools and many businesses closed and people avoided the difficult driving conditions.

Stamford Cops: Man Shattered Windshield Of Ex-Girlfriend After Dispute STAMFORD, Conn. — A man told to leave a party Sunday because he made a threatening comment while in a dispute with an ex-girlfriend then smashed her car's windshield with a power tool, Stamford police said. Police: Stratford Man Arrested After Officer Breaks Up Drug Buy In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. — An alert police officer arrested a Stratford man after spotting what he believed was a drug transaction Thursday evening in Stamford, police said. Lt. Diedrich Hohn was walking on Lipton Place, a short U-shaped street near the 700 block of Atlantic Street, at 6 p.m. when he noticed two men, police said. Monroe Man Charged With Letting Girlfriend's 10-Year-Old Son Drive Car MONROE, Conn. -- At least he kept his eyes open for his mugshot. Two Men Wanted In New Canaan For Stealing Mail From Weed Street Mailboxes NEW CANANN, Conn. -- One of two men suspected of stealing mail from mailboxes Friday was later recorded cashing a check for $467, New Canaan Police said. Stamford Firefighters Forced To Break Into Auto Body Shop To Attack Blaze STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford firefighters had to use power saws to cut open locked security gates to fight a fire at an auto body shop early Friday. Firefighters responded to a 911 call at 1:14 a.m. Friday for a fire at Bill's Service at 49 Gleason Ave. Initially, firefighters couldn't get into the building that had heavy smoke emanating from the single-story building.
