The results will help determine the composition of the 2014-15 national team.
West won Saturday’s singles race in 1:45.378, just ahead of Aidan Kelly, who finished 0.519 seconds behind West. On Sunday, West finished fourth, which created a tiebreaker with Taylor Morris, who won Sunday’s race. West won by having the fastest time among the four heats from the weekend. West’s best time was 52.525, while Morris’ best was 52.63.
Sunday's race concluded the season for the Senior National Team athletes.
The 18-year-old Ridgefield native was the youngest member of the U.S. luge team in Sochi last month. West gained fame when his father announced to the world on the "Today" show that he was "very single."
West learned to luge originally on a homemade luge run his father built in their Ridgefield backyard.
