On the mens team, 27 swimmers scored to help them take first place overall and the combined men's and women's team took fourth place overall out of 52 teams.
AJ Bornstein broke two CT 13-14 boys state records in the 200 breaststroke and the 100 breaststroke and qualified for the USA Swimmings Winter Jr. National Championships in December. He was also ranked among the top 10 fastest 14-year-old boys in the country for those events.
He also took first in the 400 individual medley and third in the 200 fly in the boys 13-14 division.
In the 11-12 boys division, Luke Hruska placed first in the 400 free, 100 fly, 100 backstroke, 200IM, 50 fly and second in the 200 free.
Also in the 11-12 division, Vidur Hareesh placed first in the 50 and 200 backstroke and second in the 100 backstroke. Ethan Murray took first place in the 200 fly along with a third place finish in the 100 fly and 200IM. Victor Cai placed second in the 200 breast and Connor Hunt finished second in the 200 fly.
In the 13-14 boys division, Kieran Smith scored second overall for the RAC team. He placed first in the 1500, 800 and 400 freestyle and second in the 200IM, 400IM and 200 backstroke.
In the girls 13-14 division, Lindsey Gordon took second in the 100 breast. Her time qualified her for Winter Jr. Nationals in December and ranks her among the top 20 fastest 14-year-old girls in the country for that event. She also placed second in the 200 breaststroke and third in the 400IM.
RAC is coached by Head Coach/CEO Jay Benner, Head Age Group Coach Emmanuel Lanzo and Assistant Coach Jeff Bonaccorso. Open tryouts for RAC will be held on Aug. 27 and Aug.28 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Barlow Mountain Pool.
