On a recent picture-perfect day, a number of golfers were grabbing a cart or lining up at the tee on the 18-hole municipal golf course.
Completed in 1974, the challenging course was designed by architects George and Tom Fazio. It features rolling hills, tree-lined fairways, ponds, challenging greens, and great views.
The front nine is more wide open tee to green, but features challenging green complexes. The back nine is less forgiving off the tee, but the greens tend to be less undulating, according to the course's website.
Director of golf at the course is Frank A. Sergiovanni, who turned professional in 1985 and was elected to full PGA member status in 1989. He came to Ridgefield in June 2001. The course superintendent is Anton Steger.
The Ridgefield Golf Course is located at 545 Ridgebury Road.
