NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Visits Fairfield Giants Football

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Players and coaches in the Fairfield Giants Youth Football program got a visit from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell during practice Wednesday evening.

Goodell stopped by the practice to follow up on the impact that the "Heads Up Football" program has had on youth football. He ran drills with the players and observed their tackling practices, and spoke with coaches, parents and other community members during his visit.

Heads Up Football is a program that is part of USA Football and endorsed by the NFL designed to promote football safety, particularly when it comes to concussion safety. The program educates players and coaches on safe tackling techniques, proper equipment, and how to recognize the signs and symptoms of concussions.
