RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Mariano Rivera’s benefit appearance at Ridgefield High School has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the student center.
The event was originally scheduled for Tuesday night, but the visit by the pitching ace was postponed after schools were closed because of the snowstorm.
Tickets for the event cost $100 with proceeds going for lighting for the multipurpose, Guido Maiolo Field at Ridgefield High, as well as Rivera’s church, Refugio de Esperanza, which is opening in New Rochelle, N.Y., this month.
Those interested in purchasing tickets can contact Athletic Director Carl Charles at 203-894-5750, ext. 11010 or Angelo Formisano at 914-497-4114.
Rivera played 19 seasons for the New York Yankees, winning five World Series titles and making 13 All-Star teams. He finished his career with a record 652 saves.
