RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – The Ridgefield Public Schools will reopen for class on Wednesday but will be closed Tuesday.
“We felt it was in the interest of safety to agree with Deborah Lowe to close school tomorrow,” said First Selectman Rudy Marconi. “To force an opening and risk an injury to anyone just wasn’t worth it.”
Lowe announced Monday afternoon that the schools would remain closed, but that the schools will be open on Veteran's Day, which is Monday, Nov. 12.
The schools were originally closed in observance of the holiday, but the district has decided to use the holiday to make up for seven days of missed classes.
