Ridgefield Schools Chief Unveils $91.37M Budget Plan, Reflecting A 6% Hike

RIDGEFIELD, CONN. -- Ongoing program and policy changes -- not to mention staffing and student needs -- could boost the budget for Ridgefield schools by more than 6 percent, according to a report by RidgefieldPress.com.

Schools Superintendent Karen Baldwin this week unveiled a $91.37 million spending plan that reflects a $5.3 million increase over the current budget, the RidgefieldPress.com story said.

As annual increases in the last six years have never cracked 3 percent, some residents at the Thursday, Feb. 11, meeting where the plan was unveiled expressed shock, RidgefieldPress.com reported.
