What You Need To Know To Vote Today In Ridgefield

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Polls will be open across Connecticut from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, for voters to cast ballots in municipal elections.

All the races on the ballot are for local races — from mayors and first selectmen to school board members to constables and members of the RTM. 

Some towns in Fairfield County will see a change in leadership at the top with no incumbents up for re-election. New first selectmen will be elected in Monroe, Newtown, New Canaan and Trumbull, and Stratford will elect a new mayor. 

Contested races at the top of the ticket are on the ballot in Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Darien Greenwich, New Fairfield, Norwalk, Sherman, Stamford, Weston and Westport. 

Voters in Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Redding, Ridgefield, Shelton and Wilton will make decisions on local boards.

After you arrive to vote, go to the check-in table and provide your name and address. 

Voters should bring identification such as a driver’s license or other photo ID, a utility bill with an address or a credit card with preprinted name and signature to the polling place. 

If you have no ID, you can sign a statement provided by the Secretary of the State that the elector whose name appears on the official check list is the same person signing the form.

If you are not registered to vote or you are registered in the wrong town, you can still vote. Election Day Registration is not available at your polling place, but is available at a designated location in each town. You will need to provide proof of identity and residency. Click here to find the location in your town.
