While Hartford held its annual "Husky Day" celebration of UConn athletics, the school's Undergraduate Student Government held an academic showcase in the Capitol's Old Judiciary Room.

Frey congratulated Auriemma, who this month coached the UConn's women's team to his 10th national championship.

Frey also met with students, including Ari Fischer, a Ridgefield resident who is graduating this spring with a degree in chemical engineering. Fischer has been accepted to the University of California at Berkeley's doctoral program, and is hoping to one day become a professor.
