RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A public information meeting will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, about the current plans for Ridgefield's Schlumberger Site on 36 Old Quarry Road.
The meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. in the Town Hall Large Conference Room at 400 Main St, Ridgefield.
First Selectman Rudy Marconi and environmental consultant Scott Bristol from Milone & Macbroom will speak. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The town purchased the 45-acre parcel from Schlumberger in December 2011 for $7 million. Four projects are proposed for the site:
- A hotel, self-storage facility and commercial building is proposed for a 5-acre parcel off Old Quarry Road on the north side;
- A 10-acre parciel off Sunset Lane has been rezoned to multifamily use;
- A 12-acre parcel must undergo remediation before it would be sold;
- A bike trail at the rec center on Danbury Road would be connected to the town’s rail trail on Ivy Hill Road on the remaining 18-acre parcel. Also, a new sewer line would be installed.
