The woman was found with 406 grams of THC lollipops, 22 grams of THC rock candy, 300 grams of THC cookies, 94 grams of THC wax, and 13 grams of marijuana just a day after her 26th birthday, state police said.

The case began when troopers from Troop A in Southbury were conducting speed enforcement on I-84 east near Exit 5 at about 10:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, when the spotted the speeding Kia Optima, police said.

Troopers stopped the car after using laser to clock the vehicle's speed at 86 mph in a 55-mph zone, police said.

During the stop, troopers determined that the driver had a suspended Pennsylvania driver's license and also believed that illegal narcotics were in the car, police said.

With the assistance of K-9 Officer Favor, troopers searched the vehicle, and located and seized the items laced with THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, the chemical compound found in cannabis that causes people to get high.

The passenger, Danielle Keith of 951 Lisbon St. Lewiston, claimed ownership of the narcotics and was taken into custody. Keith was transported to Troop A, where she was fingerprinted, photographed and charged with possession of a controlled substance. She was released after posting $5,000 bond pending a March 10 court appearance at Danbury Superior Court.

The driver was charged with several motor vehicle violations.
