South Salem Driver Strikes, Injures Two Runners In Danbury Intersection

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury police are investigating after a driver from South Salem, N.Y., struck and injured two runners at the intersection of Balmforth Avenue and Osborne Street on Saturday, Nov. 22.

Rosalee Blacker, 22, was traveling west on Osborne Street at 10:13 p.m. Saturday as Aldair Salazar, 19, and Christian Jones, 21, both of Danbury, were running northbound on Balmforth and crossing Osborne, police said. 

Blacker attempted to avoid the pedestrians but was unable to swerve in time, police said. The two runners were taken to Danbury Hospital to be treated for their injuries, police said.
