RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield Police will be stepping up enforcement during the time before and after Memorial Day weekend in an effort to promote safe driving.

Ridgefield Police will be particularly looking for people who do not buckle their seat belts. Police said that they will be out on the roads enforcing state occupant protection laws and issuing citations to those who are unbuckled.

The stepped up enforcement will take place from May 22 to June 4.
