The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is the largest grass-roots fundraising public awareness vehicle for the games and is a year-round commitment made by law enforcement officers to raise funds for and awareness of Special Olympics.

The effort raised $52 million for Special Olympics programs around the world in 2015.

In Ridgefield and surrounding towns and cities, it has become a priority within the law enforcement community and a source of pride within the profession. Officers assist throughout the year at various competitions.

The run will begin at 9 a.m. on Main Street. To donate to the cause, click here.
