RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield police are investigating a number of car burglaries where the suspects have broken the windows in the vehicles and then stolen items inside, including one that occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Ridgefield Park and Recreation Center.
According to police, the latest vandalism and theft happened around 2:40 p.m., at the center on Danbury Road in which four vehicles had their windows broken in the parking lot, and two vehicles owners reporting various items missing.
In addition to the latest incident, the department is investigating multiple larcenies from motor vehicles that occurred between July 17 and July 21 at the center and the city's dog park.
There have been a total of three different vehicles entered during this time period that have been reported to the police. On all occasions a window on the vehicle has been smashed and various items reported stolen.
The incidents occurred at the following locations:
- July 17 between 5:30 and 6:05 p.m. in the Parks and Recreation parking lot at 195 Danbury Road.
- July 21 between 6:45 and 7:20 p.m. in the Parks and Recreation parking lot at 195 Danbury Road.
- July 21 between 6:30 and 7:20 p.m. in the Dog Park/Scalzo Field parking area off Prospect Ridge Road.
