The use of seat belts has been proven to protect drivers and passengers in the event they are involved in a collision.

Throughout the years, "Click It or Ticket" seat belt enforcement mobilization has saved thousands of lives, with the help of law enforcement officers, highway safety officials and safety advocates across the country.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death among those ages 1-54 in the United States. More than 2.2 million adult drivers and passengers were treated in emergency departments as the result of being injured in motor vehicle crashes in 2012. Adult seat belt use is the most effective way to save lives and reduce injuries in crashes.
